I must confess, returning to a routine brings me a sense of calm. The post-Labor Day atmosphere is present, and I can tell my clients are prepared to transition and recommit to goals that pave the way for various successes. For my professional ladies, this involves moving away from the relaxed work styles of summer to embrace a more refined approach as we step into the brisk fall season.
With routines fully resumed, is your work wardrobe ready? Here's a quick guide to help you transition into Fall with total ease, while using what you already own in your closet.
1. Review your essential items.
Take out your blazers, trousers, and button-downs. If they still fit and feel modern, keep them. If not, let them go!
2. Include one “elevate” piece.
A stylish blazer or a standout bag can enhance five outfits you already have. One perfect item is better than ten new ones.
3. Develop three reliable formulas.
Trouser + blouse + blazer.
Midi skirt + knit + loafer.
Dark Denim + Sweater + Trench
A few reliable combos kill Monday-morning decision fatigue.
4. Rethink your shoes.
A stylish loafer or ankle boot can transform the entire vibe of an outfit, adding instant sophistication from the ground up.
This week's challenge: Create one "elevated" work outfit using only items you already have in your closet. Apply my 'Build Three go-to formula', and give it a try!
